Ricky Powell “Oh No He Didn’t!!” Exhibit at Klughaus Gallery

Nowadays you get an email with an invite for an event, but that isn’t the case when it comes to Ricky. He makes sure he personally calls you to invite you to any of his social functions. That is something you don’t see anymore. But that’s my friend Ricky Powell, a man who will probably never change his ways.  Ricky phoned me to let me know about his exhibit at the downtown New York contemporary art gallery for Graffiti and street art, Klughaus.

“Oh No He Didn’t!”, featured a collection of old and new Powell images, his amazing selection takes you back to the birth of MTV and the iconic musicians who paved the way. His photographs capture the New York City’s 80’s scene and feature Run-DMC, Madonna, Sandra Bernhard and many more.

Although the exhibit is already closed, you can take a peek at the photos I took at the grand opening.

Enjoy!

DJ Smoke L.E.S on the 1’s and 2’s.

Thank you, Ricky for continuing to share these iconic photos.
